Our family’s journey began with two people falling in love and dreaming of creating the perfect family. What we didn’t anticipate were the challenges that lay ahead on our path to parenthood. After years of trying and facing numerous obstacles, we finally welcomed our first child after over two years of effort.
From the moment our daughter was born, I sensed something was wrong with her mouth. Despite my concerns, doctors and lactation consultants dismissed me as an anxious first-time mom. It wasn’t until her one-week check-up that a doctor finally listened and discovered she had multiple ties in her mouth. The oral surgeon’s confirmation of my fears ignited a fierce determination to fight for her health. Once the ties were corrected, she began to thrive, but our journey was far from over.
At six months, we were devastated to learn our daughter had Von Willebrand’s disease and, later, at 18 months, she was diagnosed with autism. Despite the financial struggles and lack of a deep freezer, I relied on pumping to provide for her, finding joy in her progress and resilience.
Just three months after our daughter’s birth, I discovered I was pregnant with our son. His early struggles with feeding issues and severe GI problems left us feeling helpless. A battle with RSV turned into pneumonia, and he fought for his life in the hospital at just two months old. Unable to latch, I continued to pump and provide for him, even using a specialized formula that required a prescription.
Our son is now one year old, a testament to our family’s strength and perseverance. Our journey has been filled with challenges and heartache, but also with moments of triumph and resilience. Though our start was not simple, our love and determination have carried us through the darkest of times.
What We Do
